Now Accepting INT Program and Workshop Proposals

Timeline

The INT offers a collaborative and stimulating research environment where visiting scientists can concentrate on key frontier areas of nuclear physics, including those vital to the success of current and upcoming experimental and computational facilities. Our programs and workshops are designed to foster interdisciplinary research at the intersections of nuclear physics with related disciplines, including high-energy physics, astrophysics, atomic physics, condensed matter physics, and quantum information science.

We are soliciting proposals for longer programs, expected to be four weeks in duration, to be scheduled in 2028, as well as shorter two-week programs that can be scheduled in either 2027 or 2028. The format for these programs will remain the same, with no more than two to three talks per day, ensuring ample time for discussion, interaction, and collaborative research.

In addition, we are soliciting proposals for one-week workshops in 2027 or 2028. If you are interested in proposing a workshop that aims to host more than 20 participants, you are encouraged to identify partner institutions or collaborations that can provide supplemental funding.

Beginning in 2027, the INT has negotiated discounted rates with select Seattle hotels, allowing us to cover the full cost of lodging and provide a per diem of $50 per day. At a time of tight budgets for nuclear theory, we hope this support will make it easier for researchers, particularly students and early-career scientists, to participate in INT programs.

Proposals are due by November 30, 2026, so that the INT's National Advisory Committee can consider them at its January meeting. We use a web-based submission procedure. Instructions for preparing and submitting proposals can be found at:

In addition to state-of-the-art infrastructure for facilitating in-person and hybrid meetings, the INT has an excellent staff that takes care of the organizational and logistical aspects of our events, allowing organizers to focus on the scientific agenda.
