The nuclear theory group at Louisiana State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher to work with members of the nuclear theory group and perform scientific research in the area of nuclear structure and reactions with impacts on nuclear astrophysics and fundamental symmetries. Review of applications will start on November 15, 2022. For any questions, please contact Alexis Mercenne (amercenne@lsu.edu).

The successful candidate will be leading a research project with the aim to advance reaction studies toward exotic and heavy nuclei, including the use of LSU's ab initio symmetry-adapted no-core shell model and symplectic symmetry, as well as the Gamow shell model for weakly bound and unbound systems. In addition, the successful candidate will interact with members of LSU's groups with strong research in related areas including experimental nuclear physics and neutrino physics, as well as astrophysics. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in nuclear theory or a closely related field by the beginning of the postdoctoral appointment. Experience in high-performance computing, ab initio calculations and/or reaction theory is preferred.
