Postdoctoral Position
STAR Spin at Texas A&M University

Texas A&M University has a position immediately available for a post-doctoral research associate to participate in the STAR spin physics program at RHIC. Our group has specialized on the measurement of jets with the STAR detector. We have played a major role in STAR measurements of the longitudinal double-spin asymmetry for inclusive jet production in order to determine the gluon polarization within the nucleon, and will play a role in STAR di-jet measurements in the future. We are also beginning a study of transverse single-spin asymmetries in forward jet production to look for signatures of parton orbital motion or transversity. The successful candidate will be expected to lead important spin analyses within STAR. The initial appointment will be for one year, renewable for two more years upon mutual agreement. Applicants should send a resume and list of publications and arrange to have three letters of recommendation sent to:

Dr. Carl Gagliardi
Cyclotron Institute
Texas A&M University
3366 TAMU
College Station, TX 77834-3366
e-mail(preferred): cggroup@comp.tamu.edu.

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled, but should be received by June 30 to assure full consideration.
