The purpose of this conference is to bring together physicists, earth scientists, educators, and others interested in underground science and to produce a white paper to ensure that National Underground Science Laboratory (NUSL) will satisfy the needs of these diverse groups. A sister conference covering microbiology that can be explored in an Underground Laboratory will be held in late November.
